Dear Maplers,

Yay! School Holidays is here again and MapleSEA will be having a 2X EXP event on every weekends from 27th May 2008 to 24th June 2008 for all worlds.

Here is the date and the time slot for the following 2X EXP event:

MapleSEA 3rd Anniversary Quests In-depth Walkthrough

MapleSEA 3rd Anniversary Level Up event

If it’s the first time you are doing the quest, a light bulb would appear above your character’s head the moment you logged in, and clicking it (accept all the way) will give you certain amount of maple leaf. Amount given varies according to your level, and each time you level up, the light bulb would appear again. (Level 129 gains roughly about 580 maple leaf.)

The Maple Leaf’s Owner (Requirement: Level 10 and above)

1. Talk to the Maple Administrator, she will ask you to talk to Olaf
2. Olaf gives you a box, bring this box to Grendel the really old
3. Grendel the really old will further enhance the box. He will ask you to talk to Jay
4. Jay will see the box and will ask you to find a document. Look at your quest Log and look at the level req of the quest. For example; if its lv 71, you need to kill mobs that are lv 71 or greater for the document to drop. (Method is tested and proven)
Note: Check Hidden-Street to find out the levels of the monster you want to hunt.
Once you have the document, talk to the Orb at the top of the guild formation building (Exterior)
5. It will give you the quest item Maple Earrings. Go back to Olaf and you will finally get your Maple Earrings at lv 20.

To get your lv 40 Maple Earrings (Requirement: Level 40 and above)

Talk to Kriel the Fairy with the lv 20 Maple Earrings in inventory and she will
ask you to get 30 Star Pixie’s Star Piece and Additionally kill 50 Star Pixies. Get them to receive your lv 40 Maple Earrings.

To get your lv 70 Maple Earrings (Requirement: Level 60 and above)

Talk to Spiruna with the lv 40 Maple Earrings in inventory. She will ask you to hunt 30 Lucidas. Kill 30 Lucida and go back to Spiruna to receive the final upgrade to your Maple Earrings.

Cassandra’s Maple Quiz (Requirement: Level 10 and above)

Note: Skip this part if you want a challenge. (They’re quite easy anyway)

Answers are in order:

1. June 2005 (Reward: 100 exp + 1 Maple Leaf)
2. 2D Side Scroll (Reward: 150 exp + 2 Maple Leaf)
3. No Answer (Reward: 200 exp + 3 Maple Leaf)

Cassandra’s Fortune Telling (Requirement: Level 10 and above, 4 Maple Leaf)

Gives a special buff, effects are random.
List of buffs reported by other maplers so far: 2x Meso drop (2 hrs), 20WA/MA (1 hr) , 20WA (2 hrs), 100WDEF/MDEF , 50 ACC/AVOID , 10SPEED/JUMP, 10 WA/MA (20 mins), 20 Def, some accuracy, jump and speed
Note: Timings of the buff seems random as well. One special fortune you can get is a free regular haircut coupon.

Everyday Event (Occurs only on every Fridays)

Speak with Cassandra to select a monster, this will give 10% to 12% bonus exp when you fight the monster. You may choose from the whole list or a recommended list (meaning monsters around your level range).
Note: Monster choices are restricted based on which Cassandra NPCs that reside in World Tour areas which you speak with.

Secret of the Unseemly Statue (Requirement: Level 8 and above)

Speak to the Maple Administrator to start the quest, then she’ll ask you to look for Eurek the Alchemist.
Eurek will then ask you to look for some materials, they are 3 Sapphire Ores, 3 Garnet Ores and 3 Amethyst Ores.

Return to Eurek who will reward you one random monster piece.

The Evil Spirit Jar 1 (Requirement: Level 8 and above)

FAQ

Q: What quests are repeatable?
A: The Level Up event, Cassandra’s Maple Quiz, Cassandra’s Fortune Telling, Evil Spirit Jar, Sealed Jar, Aramia’s Fireworks and the Maple Leaf exchange quests are repeatable. Some of them have a cooldown time in between before you can do them again. (Refer to this official link)

Q: Why some characters have a golden girl effect?
A: They have the complete maple set, which should consist of Maple Earrings (level 70), any Maple weapon/shield (level 64) and a Maple hat (level 70).

Q: Why aren’t the old Maple weapons dropping?!! I hunted for so long and with 2x drop coupons…
A: The drop rate is just low as mentioned in my previous post.

Solution for Evil Jar 3 Quest

It seems the quest isn’t as buggy as it was. I managed to activate evil jar 3 quest after some tries.

After obtaining a full jar and completing evil jar 2 quest, you’ll need to click on Cassandra again to start off evil jar 3 quest. After clicking, if you suffer the problem of unable to access any portal, or change channel etc, do not log out immediately. Wait a while as the NPC is trying to pair you up with another mapler for the quest. Once the other mapler is found, above your character head will pop out a lightbulb indicating quest information, and you should received your empty yellow charm. Click on the lightbulb to find the person to trade him the charm. The receiving end needs to double click on the charm to convert it into a written charm and trade to return you. After which, you can find back Cassandra to complete the quest.

Tips to better complete the quest. Try channel 1. Usually a lot of people are doing the quest. If fail, re-login and attempt channel 2, 3, 4 and so on. You can forfeit the quest and restart if the selected mapler do not wish to help you.

MapleSEA 3rd Anniversary Quests Update

Some updates on the Anniversary Quests. Mainly look out for “Maple Administrator” and “Cassandra” NPCs located at all towns.

“Maple Administrator” NPC allows you to exchange for 3rd Anniversary’s Maple weapons using previous anniversary’s Maple weapons (lvl 35 and 43) and certain numbers of maple leaf (1000 to 1500). You may also get your Maple hat, 3rd anniversary scrolls, and activate the Maple earring Quest here. The maple leaf drop rate is pretty high. My advice for you is to hunt monster that you can one-hit-ko (OHKO) with, if you are just aiming to hunt for a lot of maple leaf. The maple leaf free market (FM) price, starts from 30k per leaf on Thursday night, to 20k per leaf on Friday morning, and now to 10k per leaf on Friday night. Defintely, it’s going to drop further more, and more and more maplers begins to sell the maple leaf, there will be a surge in supply compared to the demand slow down. On the other hand, prices for old Maple weapons have doubled (3 to 10mil depending on weapon category, with claw and staff/wand being the most expensive so far). Therefore, if you are really no urgent to upgrade/get/own the new Maple weapons, it is better to save your mesoes and WAIT!

“Cassandra” NPC provides the “Evil Jar Quest”, “Fortune Telling Quest”, “Everyday Quest”, and “Anniversary Quizes”. It is recommended to do the “Anniversary Quizes” as it is a good means to get free EXP and free “Monster Crystals”. “Fortune Telling Quest” gives 2x drop rate for 2 hours upon activation, and ”Everyday Quest” gives 10% bonus EXP for choice of monster, also lasts 2 hours upon activation, and both are repeatable on a daily basis. It is advisable not to do the “Evil Jar Quest” now, as the quest is buggy where you hit the ”Evil Jar 3″ portion. Your maple client will behave abnormally (cannot change channel, enter portal etc), and might crashed (MS Visual C++ error, just blank black screen). Let’s just wait for a patch to resolve these bugs. 

Also, somehow I felt as if the Maple weapons’ drop rate are pretty low. After hunting for 2 hrs, I don’t get any Maple weapons except Maple leafs and jar pieces. Zzz!

Last but not least, hold your horses, don’t missed out Saturday 2000 hrs to 2200 hrs 2x EXP event at all worlds, and coming monday’s 2x EXP event from 1000 hrs to 2200 hrs 2x EXP events. The “Everyday Quest” event 10% bonus EXP will stack! That means if you play during a 2X EXP event, equipped with a 2x EXP card (cash item), and with the “Everyday Quest” event, you are easily getting 4.4x EXP in total, exlcuding other party bonuses, and holy symbol add-ons!
