My pet hamsters
Author duststar | 01.04.2008 | Category hamster, pet
Well, it has been a long time since I keep an active blog. Think it’s time to resume my random complains, casual postings, and stray thoughts again. Certainly, more efforts will be put in to keep this blog active. Do bear with me for my poor English.
For a start, let me start with my pet hamsters.
I adopted them 6 weeks ago from my girlfriend. They came from the same litter of hamsters born by same parent. It has been verified that (after flipping them over many times), one of them is a male hamster, while the other one, is a female hamster. As for their names, I have not been able to think of any names at the moment. Hopefully, I can tell you their names when the next update comes.
Today is pet maintenance day, and I have snap a few pictures of the hamsters in action.
(The photos are resized using Picassa. You can click on them to view larger resolution)
The hamsters’s bath house is filled with lemon-scented hamster’s bathing sands.
Don’t peep! They are bathing!
This is their home, with new cat litter.
After bathing, they went home.
They are sniffing out; their basic instinct of identifying every stuffs.
And they are looking for their former hide-out.
One of them makes an escape! Their food are spread out (instead of storing them in their original food holder at one corner) so that they don’t end up fighting to claim ownership over food.
Ok. They managed to figure out that the top cover has been placed back, so they gave up escaping and turn their attention to have their dinner.
Nibbling her food at one corner.
Eh! Why you step on her?
After bathing, usually they will fight, and in this case, the female hamster is exercising her stronger domineering power (being bigger size than him) over the male hamster. lol. It takes some time for them to settle down, to get used to each other’s smell. I have tear and thrown some tissues in for them to play and to keep warm with. Usually, the next day the hamsters will tear them into even smaller pieces and placed them at one corner of their home.
This pretty much sums up the introduction of my pet hamsters, and my first post. Hope you enjoy reading and seeing them!
